Experience the majestic Himalayan Mountains
KATHMANDU, NEPAL
April 1-5th
Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal, offers a unique blend of ancient traditions and modernity. With rich cultural heritage and breathtaking natural beauty. There has always been a great amalgamation of Hindu and Buddhist throughout the ages. Hindus have long worshipped at Buddhist temples, and Buddhists at Hindu temples. The reason for this is that Hinduism and Buddhism have both evolved as dharmic religions.
NAGARKOT, NEPAL
April 6-9th
The breathtaking views of the Himalayas that can be seen from Nagarkot are one of the keys contributing to its popularity. On clear days, one could view the majestic peaks of Mount Everest, Annapurna, Ganesh Himal, and Langtang. The sunrise and sunset views from Nagarkot are particularly stunning, with the sun's golden warmth surrealistically illuminating the snow-capped mountains. In addition to its beautiful landscapes, Nagarkot is renowned for its calm, serene ambiance. Visiting Sacred Sites
Swayambhunath Buddhist Stupa
Resting on a hillock 3 km west of Kathmandu, Swayambhu is one of the holiest Buddhist stupas in Nepal. It is said to have evolved spontaneously when the valley was created out of a primordial lake more than 2,000 years ago. This stupa is the oldest of its kind in Nepal and has numerous shrines and monasteries on its premises.

Swayambhu literally means "self-existent one". Believed to date back to 460 A.D., it was built by King Manadeva and by the 13th century, it had become an important center of Buddhism. Legend has it that Swayambhu was born out of a lotus flower that bloomed in the middle of a lake that once spread across the Kathmandu Valley once was. The largest image of the Sakyamuni Buddha in Nepal sits on a high pedestal on the western boundary of Swayambhu beside the Ring Road. Behind the hilltop is a temple dedicated to Manjusri or Saraswati - the Goddess of learning. Chaityas, statues and shrines of Buddhist and Hindu deities fill the stupa complex. The base of the hill is almost entirely surrounded by prayer wheels and deities. Devotees can be seen circumambulating the stupa at all times.
Pashupatinath Temple
The Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu, Nepal is a collection of temples, ashrams, images, and inscriptions dedicated to Pashupati, a form of Shiva. This holy pilgrimage site for Hindus is built on an area of 246 hectares and includes 518 mini-temples and a main pagoda house. The temple is considered one of the most sacred Shiva Kshetras and is classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
One legend says that Shiva and Parvati took the form of antelopes in the forest on the Bagmati river's east bank. The gods later caught up with him and grabbed him by one of his horns, forcing him to resume his divine form. The broken horn was worshipped as a linga, but over time it was buried and lost. Centuries later a herdsman found one of his cows showering the earth with milk, and after digging at the site, he discovered the divine linga of Pashupatinath.
Guheshwari Temple
Guheshwari Temple is a revered holy temple in Kathmandu, Nepal, dedicated to Guhyeshwari or Adi Shakti. It is an important pilgrimage destination for Hindus, especially for Tantric worshipers. The temple's name originates from the Sanskrit words Guhya (secret or hidden) and Ishwari (goddess). Only Brahmin clan from Newar community perform daily rituals or nitya puja of Guhyeshwari Temple.

Together we will witness the beauty of Mount Everest in Nagarkot and immerse ourselves in the spiritual energy of this incredible place.
Milarepa Cave
Milarepa Cave, located above Sankhu Sankharapur, is a significant spiritual destination for Buddhist devotees. It is where Maha Guru Milarepa meditated and spent his time.
Jetsun Milarepa, a major figure in the history of the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism, is regarded for his writings, often referred to as the Songs of Milarepa. These canonical Mahayana Buddhist texts emphasize the temporary nature of the physical body and the need for non-attachement.
Namo Buddha Monastery
Namo Buddha Monastery (Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery) is a sacred Buddhist site located in Nepal. It is believed to be the place where Prince Mahasatwo (also known as Ngingdui Tshenpo), gave his body to a starving tigress and her cubs. The tigress ate the prince and left only his bones. The bones of the prince were brought back to the village and buried in a tomb which became the stupa of Namo Buddha.
Some 3500 years later, the Gautam Buddha came to the village of Sange da Fyafulsa. He conducted three tours around the stupa before he declared that he was the reincarnation of Prince Mahasatwo. Gautam Buddha then renamed this village to Namo Buddha, meaning Hommage to Buddha
The monastery is a peaceful and serene place, perfect for meditation and reflection. Visitors can explore the beautiful grounds, visit the stupa, and attend prayer ceremonies.
Optional Trip to Janakpur
After the retreat, you are invited to join us to explore the rich history and culture of Janakpur.
