Divine Marga Initation
The word ‘initiate’ is derived from the Latin word initiare, which means to commence or start something new. Initiationis a rebirth for our Soul. We become detached from the attractions of the material world and are reborn into a path ofspiritual devotion through meditation. After so many cyclesof incarnation, after traveling through 8,400,000 life forms that the Soul usually incarnates into until it reaches humanlife – it begins or returns to the process of ascension back tothe Divine.
It seems remarkable that, amongst the countless billions inhabiting our planet, just a small number of individuals atany point in time are prepared for Divine initiation and freedom from the eternal cycle of rebirth. Initiation marks thestart of a transformed existence granted exclusively to those mature and ready to receive this special blessing.
It is commonly known that, when the Soul enters the lowerregions of creation, it needs to incarnate through 8,400,000 life forms by projecting itself into minerals and rocks, plantsand trees, insects, and progressively more complex lifeforms, such as fish and birds, making its way towardsmammals, and getting an opportunity to become a humanbeing.
The Soul's human journey often begins in more primitive societies that are less touched by civilization's complexities. These places allow the Soul to learn basic human experiences. As it advances through various lives, developing emotional and mental capacities, the Soul becomes ready for spiritual growth. This spiritual awakening happens when the Soul urges its human form to look inward and upward.

“Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (John 3:3)
Spiritual life consists of many beginner and intermediary stages, until the Soul realizes its highest purpose, which is to return home to its origin. It is Sat Purush that gave birth to all the Souls. So, in the heart of the Soul is God Supreme, Sat Purush.
Masters say: “An intense longing to meet the Lord during one’s lifetime is the first and foremost qualification for Initiation. ‘Seek, and you shall find’ is the principle.”
Initiation day is special because it is like a rebirth or birthday for our Soul, where it is no longer alone, for it becomes connected with the guide, with the radiant inner form of Sat Guru, Master, spiritual teacher. And this is where we meet at the deeper Soul level.
Physically, Sat Guru shares our human form. However, the crucial distinction lies in the spiritual dimension, for the Master has walked the path of Truth, discovered ineffable bliss, and achieved Soul Liberation by journeying deep within and uniting with the Divine Light and Sound Stream, the Shabd/Divine spiritual force. Only someone who has attained God-Realization can guide the Soul back home.
Initiation is a commitment to our practice, and a willingness to be guided towards the true liberation of the Soul. This tradition was started by the first Sat Guru in the world, Sant Kabir Das, who brought the Divine Light and Sound Stream in all four Yugas. Now, at Divine Marga, we have a duty to serve the Souls that are willing to go all the way to the True Divine Home.
Initiation by Sat Guru is a profound step
Initiation is not just a ceremony. It begins a journey towards Full Consciousness and towards completing all karma, thus liberating the Soul. It requires commitment, patience, and trust in the process. Your guide will be there to support you, but the journey is ultimately yours to make.
Sat Guru reveals the technique of reaching the Divine, of journeying inward through meditative practice and linking our Soul and Spirit to the Divine Light and Sound Stream, thus permanently freeing us from the cycle of birth and death. The Sat Guru transforms us from ignorance to enlightenment and sets the Spirit free by uniting us with the Supreme, the Infinite.
As we progress on this path, we experience profound changes. The ultimate goal is to complete all karma in Pinda, Anda, Brahmanda, and ParBrahmanda, and return to our True Home in the Divine.
The journey back home is complex. It requires a connection with the Master’s inner radiant form, and it is also important to have a connection in the physical world. We are influenced by our mind, emotions, and various other factors that distract us from this most important purpose and goal of our Soul.
For those deeply committed on their spiritual path, attaining degrees of Divine presence can be achieved in just a few years, depending on individual progress. Rapid advancement can occur, allowing the Soul to clear all karma in another five to ten years.
Masters have always said that, after initiation, a Soul may take up to three lifetimes to clear all karma and return to the Divine fully. After 8,400,000 lifetimes and several 25,000- year cycles in human form, even three lifetimes to clear all the Soul’s karma is not that long, considering the accumulated baggage.
This timeline varies based on commitment levels. Those who practice half-heartedly, attending occasional Satsang or retreats, may need one or two lifetimes. However, for the truly dedicated, it's possible to complete all karma in this lifetime – in as little as 5, 7, or 10 years, regardless of life circumstances.
Everybody has commitments, responsibilities, families, and work. All of that remains and is an important part of our lives. But everybody can find some time twice a day for meditation, for our Soul to return to its liberation. If we truly grasp its importance, we can dedicate even more time, prioritizing it over other entertainment or mundane life duties.
It is our inner calling and dedication according to how much or how little we are distracted by life, habits, and all sorts of other distractions and challenges.
The meaning of Satsang is a meeting in truth to remind ourselves what we truly are. It helps us see beyond the endless cycles of birth, youth, aging, and death. Over 300,000 new babies are born daily in this world, while a similar, but smaller number of elders depart their physical bodies, too. We don't think much about this in our lives because we still have many years to go, but that is a lot of Souls coming and leaving every day.
This perspective shift helps us understand the priorities of our spiritual journey amidst mundane life's distractions. Our commitment to this path propels our Soul forward, despite life's difficulties.
The upward path is the way inward. The upward path is the way out of these endless loops, endless cycles. And this is why the dear, great Sat Guru Kabir has brought the Divine Light and Sound Stream, which has illuminated this gift for Souls. When the Soul is initiated, it receives this blessing with a signpost that it is ready for liberation. That Soul is then protected and recognized under the protection of Sat Guru, and that Soul is reconnected with the Divine Light and Sound Stream, so it won't get lost and back into the loops of circles and cycles.
In Kabir's teachings, we learn of a conversation between Gyani and Kal Niranjan, ruler of the three lower realms – Pinda, Anda, and Brahmanda. While Kal wishes to keep Souls bound, those initiated carry a special sign of protection he can't touch. Masters teach that a Soul may take up to three lifetimes to ascend beyond Kal's influence. Those Souls that have been chosen are fortunate to have, through initiation, the opportunity of being connected to the true reality and being released from the cycle of birth and death.
The Divine Light and Sound Stream is an ancient open secret. It has been simplified, veiled, mystified, or, simply, edited out. While symbolically present in major world religions and spiritual paths, its true essence has often been lost. Many traditions have simplified, veiled, or removed this knowledge. Religious organizations focused on mass control, and political management has little interest in true spiritual liberation.
Only a few traditions on Earth still preserve the true meaning and method of reconnecting the Soul to this Divine highway homeward. This Divine Stream is the Soul's compass, guiding it back to its Source. While life's distractions may seem overwhelming, this ancient secret offers a way through.
Remember, this path is available to all who seek it. Whether you're just beginning, or have been on this journey for years, the Divine Light and Sound Stream offers guidance and support. It's a beacon of hope in a world of confusion, a reminder of our true nature and purpose. By connecting with this Stream, we tap into a Source of wisdom and strength that transcends our earthly existence, leading us upward on our spiritual journey back to the True Home.
Initiation, then, is establishing a link between the Sat Guru and disciple. This link or connection takes place on a spiritual level. The real initiation takes place within. The purpose of the outer initiation is to instill a sense of support and commitment.

Divine Marga Initiation Process
Initiation serves two key purposes. First, it aligns your Soul and Spirit with the Divine Light and Sound Stream. Second, it activates your inner channels – the pathways where Spirit opens the Divine Spirit, God's love. It also awakens your Light channels and mantramic pathways, enhancing conscious awareness, and safely activating your Shakti channels. This process allows your energy to rise comfortably where your Soul and Spirit find balance.
Initiation begins with meditation, preparing for the upward journey. Upon reaching the Divine's doorway, you'll be invited to approach the Sat Guru, receive the blessing of initiation, and be attuned. This process connects all forms of consciousness to the Divine Light and Sound Stream. It also establishes a Soulful, caring friendship, offering protection and guidance for your Soul and Spirit.
This special event is part of Divine Marga retreats; you only need to receive the initiation once. Even if life events interrupt your practice, you remain protected and guided.
Your active involvement is necessary in this process. While the Sat Guru handles most of the work in the higher realms, you must be aware and engaged in your karma dissolution. It is essential that you recognize your karma being cleared and put in effort. When you do 10% and the Master does 90%, your part is vital as the Sat Guru can't do it all for you. If you take one step forward in this direction, God, Divine, will bless you and encourage you to take 99 steps forward. And then, you take one more step forward, and God will bless you another 99 steps forward. So, any effort you make, big or small, is significant in the larger context of your Soul.
At Divine Marga, we work with numerous Divine Beings. On our website www.DivineMarga.com, the ‘Spiritual Teachers and Guides’ page showcases photos and articles of primary Beings we work with. There are many more, some never having been in human form. This vast network of Masters support forms a great brotherhood and sisterhood. You build stronger, eternal friendships with these Divine guides as you develop your inner sensitivity. Unlike earthly friends who come and go, or even rare Soul mates, these higher guides offer eternal unconditional support and care.
