This practice utilizes Pranayama (breathing) exercises and bandhas (body locks) to bring healing to the body and energetic system. Bandhas make a major contribution to the cleansing process in the body, as they assist in unblocking the flow of energy in those parts where toxins or waste have settled. The Sanskrit word ‘bandha’ means ‘to seal’ or ‘lock.’ During a bandha practice, we seal or lock a particular area in the trunk by means of compression or contraction. The major bandhas in the body are Jalandhara, Uddiyana, and Mula bandha.

This powerful practice has a healing and rejuvenating effect on the body, and can be practiced whenever one feels blocked or stuck in life.
