According to the yogic sciences, the manifest feminine primordial cosmic energy "Shakti" and the un-manifest or transcendent cosmic consciousness "Shiva" are known to be within everyone. Life Force Kundalini is depicted as a coiled up serpent lying at the base of the spine. Through a transmission, a practitioner can awaken this very potent and healing energy in the body by raising it up to the top of the head which can in fact aid the raising of one’s consciousness.
